Last-minute research paper? ONE easy hack for finding sources (yes, even peer-reviewed ones)

I go to a UC which means that I am writing a research paper every other hour of the day. I am also a major procrastinator which means that I am writing a research paper at the last minute of every other hour of my day.

I have managed to wing a few papers and still get an A or, at the very least, a passing grade. When you’re in college there will come days where a C is just as beautiful as an A+. Writing a research paper is not as hard as it looks when you have the right resources at hand. If you find yourself a day before the deadline digging through Google scholar praying to find a peer-reviewed article that has to do with your topic in the slightest then sweat no more. I have come to bestow upon you a great hack.

All you have to do is read the references.

That’s it!

It may seem like a ‘duh’ moment for many of us, but this is a hack that I wish I had known from the very beginning of my research career. It’s obvious and it’s also essential. Never underestimate how many unfortunate students are struggling right now because they can’t find an oddly specific peer-reviewed source for their paper.

Your toolbox for a carefully crafted last-minute research paper will be a few handpicked sources that you found yourself and your choice from the all-you-can-eat buffet of resources.

CRITICAL: Be aware that though you are looking at peer-reviewed articles, there is no guarantee that 100% of the resources are also going to be peer-reviewed or even trustworthy for that matter. Do be careful to double check.
